Cannot hide bookmarks bar in "New Tab"

Yep, agreed.

I apologize. Since the New Tab already seems to open Google Search, I did not pay attention
to the details on that page, assuming it was Google.com. I guess the problem is that there is
no way to set the New Tab page in the settings.

In all other browsers, I have Google.com opening in New Tab, which is NOT showing any
Bookmarks bar. I don’t see why Avast could not add this simple feature.

And yes, I still blame Avast team for this nuance. :wink:

But in that video, you don’t have the New Tab set to Google.com

It’s a documented Chromium problem.

Opera browser is also Chromium based. Here is New Tab using default settings:
