Cannot install Avast Free

Hello.

I just did a reimage on my machine and I cannot install Avast free 2016 with error message:

--------------------------- Avast Antivirus --------------------------- The installer is unable to initialize early Avast self-defense with error 0x00000241! Aborting! --------------------------- OK ---------------------------

Hp Envy x360 | i7-4590 | Windows 10 pro 64bit | 8GB RAM | 1TB HDD | Intel HD 4400 Graphics

Any help is appriciated. I just install AVG anitvirus and it installed fine…I’d rather have Avast!

Delete all installed av’s before trying to install avast.

Also run the removal tool for avast before giving a new install a try.

In addition to Eddy’s direction. When you reinstall Avast do a Clean Install

Down load ‘and save to your desktop’ the Avast Uninstall Utility here: https://www.avast.com/en-gb/uninstall-utility

Download to your Desktop your correct Avast version from here: https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=179855.0

Now disconnect from the Internet
Uninstall Avast via the Control Panel if still installed.

1.Run the uninstall tool and accept the reboot to safe mode
2.Once complete reboot your system
3.Reinstall Avast
