My avast pro basic subscription ran out the other day so I decided to upgrade to the premium package. Everything went fine until I went to upload the liscense file which was sent by e-mail. When I go to upload it it comes up with the message “Unable to insert liscense file element not found.” So when that message came up I had the file resent and it came up with the same message so I have had it resent 4 more times and I still get the same message. I also sent in a supprt ticket yesterday, but I haven’t heard back from avast yet. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
How are you trying to load this license file ?
You should be able to save the license.avastlic file to your hard disk and double click it, that should input the license into the program.
I have been doing exactly waht you are saying. I download and save the liscense file to the hard disk I then go to the subscription menu on my avast on the computer and click insert liscense and then I double click the file and I get the message “Unable to insert liscense file element not found.” To me it seems like the liscense file that avast is sending me is faulty. I haven’t heard anything back in reference to the repair ticket I opened up and will probably call tech support and see if I can get anywhere later today. Thanks again for your help.
If you haven’t tried this option I would suggest you do - Resend avast License http://www.avast.com/resend-license-paid.php, you will need to enter the email that you used when purchasing the license, e.g. the one that the original email with the link was sent.
I clicked on the link in your post David and received the resent liscense and I followed the steps in my other post above. This time I got the message “Unable to insert liscense file the system cannot find the file specified.” Any thoughts or advice would be much appreciated.
