I am using Avast! version 4.7 Home Edition build Jan2007 (4.7.942). Sometimes I cannot receive email using Microsoft Office Outlook 2007. I need to wait a few minutes or sometimes more than minutes or it just timeout like that without any incoming mail. After stopped the Avast Mail Scanner in windows services automatically I can see incoming mail into my Inbox. I am using Windows Vista Business edition. Please help me. :-[
Is the avast Outlook provider active?
Check if it’s not listed as a disabled item.
Outlook → Help menu → Disabled Items…
The thing is, the Internet Mail provider should basically IGNORE all Outlook traffic if the Outlook plugin is enabled.
BTW there’s a new version of avast (4.7.981) available and it has some fixes regarding compatibility with Outlook 2K7. I’d recommend upgrading to this version.
