Cannot remove a virus from a zip file...

Hi,

I have a website and was downloading a full backup of the website files, it’s a zip file. Avast told me that there’s a virus in backup. But clicking Move to Cheat or Delete I got this message:

Probably because the backup is a zip file, so do you suggest I download first and then scan afterwards because probably it can move to chest afterwards?

Also if I move to chest and say the virus is in support.html page, that page will be gone so to speak?

Thanks,
Karl

The web shield normally scans all http port 80 traffic and as such would scan .zip files, so you can’t just download and scan later.

The .part file on completion of the download wouldn’t be there, so that may be the reason for the pop-up.

You also don’t say what the malware name is, which if an html file could be a target for iframe or script tags injection, etc. to redirect to malicious sites.
