have been trying for 3 days to retrive my home key. Have tried 2 different email addresses and accessed my mail by web mail. Nothing is ever returned, nothing in spam folders.
Must assume your answer engine is not working since as soon as I registered for this forum I got an activation response with 1 minute at the registered address for the license key I have been trying to retrive
Is that possible? or does anyone have any other suggestion?
Yes, tried my email address at my nsi name and also my email at gmail and no response.
Checked both sites via web mail and nothing shows in either, in inbox or spam.
As soon as I registered for a forum account the activation response showed up via my nsi email account so it’s obviously not blocked.
It therefore would appear that the lost password response engine is malfunctioning
or
perhaps my license key registration has been deleted, last valid response I got from it for a lost password request was May 2009.
The forums emails are sent from a different domain name to that of the avast registrations.
Personally I wouldn’t bother trying to retrieve a lost registration as if you don’t input the same email that you first used then it wouldn’t find it. However, if going through the registration process you might as well select the I’m a registered user but need a new registration key (or words to that effect), that way you would get a new key valid for 14 months.
Did you do as suggested and try the different secure registration page ?
Yes, did as suggested with secure pages. However as soon as you select lost key on the secure page you are dumped back to the regular unsecure page.
The reason that I said they must have deleted my email address or account or their server wasn’t working correctly is that I went back on my old mail and found the last lost key request I put in. It had the same address that I am requesting them to send to now - actually is the same address as when I set up the orginal account back in 2006
As I suggested earlier, don’t bother with the lost key option, as that would entail a check for a ‘valid’ previous key (having a future expiry date) and your previous registration email.
Just try getting a new key, that way you would get a new key valid for 14 months and no requirement to search (so you shouldn’t get dumped out of the secure page.
why bother, I just used the key that was in the May email, it’s valid until next Feb and has all my correct details in it,
including my correct email that I gave multiple times to try and retrieve now.
I’ll face the issue of what happens when the key expires in February when I get to it
