I can’t get it (or Avast free) to work correctly on my new Windows 11 laptop - it doesn’t offer “scan for virus” on any file - such as .zip or .exe - works fine on my old Windows 10 laptop.
Sent email to support a few days ago but got no reply
I don’t use ‘Avast One’ Free
So I can’t speak from personal experience, however, there isn’t much information in your post to understand where/when/how and why you feel the need to do this.
The Avast antivirus program is an on-access scanner - so newly created files will be scanned automatically.
If you download files from the internet, first the web shield checks the site, if you download any files when the hit your hard drive, they should be scanned by the File System Shield. If you try and run any executable file it would first be scanned by the File System Shield.
Or are you talking about the Right Click options in Explorer ?
Note my image is from Windows 10 and Avast Antivirus Free for windows.
Yes, I’m refering to when I want to right-click a file to test it - works on Win 10 but not 11
You might try an Avast Repair in Avast One on the Win11 installation.
Unfortunately not using Avast One or win11 I have never done this.
Thanks
