cannot see the trafic history on real time shields

when I try to see the traffic history on my real time shields on my free avast I get a message to install flash and when I click on the link supplied it gets me to a page where I can download an exe file I attach a screen shot of both messages first from inside the avast program window and second one with the download prompt box that opens from the link supplied, is it something new to the program? or there is something wrong? first time this ever happens with avast, I used to be able to see my real time shields history normally without having to download anything from within the program itself

should I go on and download and install the exe file or not?

You need flashplayer for IE, if you dont have it you can grab the direct installer here http://www.filehippo.com/download_flashplayer_ie/12794/

I have it installed in all browsers but I will check again at the IE cause I hardly ever use it
isnt it safer to download the file the program prompts me to?

No difference in safety but the direct standalone installer is faster.
