Have Win XP + Sp2

Do I have to insert the whole sender’s email address ???
Help!!!

I’m using XP SP2 and Thunderbird 1.0.2 and sending SMTP mail on several accounts without problem.

Can you let us know:

what Firewall (if any) you are using - is it set to allow ashMaiSv.exe?

what error message are you seeing from Thunderbird indicating that mail cannot be sent?

Thanks for coming back,

Use Windows firewall - not set to allow ashMaiSv.exe

TBird message to the effect that Email settings incorrect.

 I have seen many recommend using the FREE, but good
firewall(s) from either Sygate or Zone Alarm, then turning
OFF the SP2 not-very-good “firewall”. Not knowing how long
you have had SP2 or Avast, perhaps the info at :

may help !? There is also Microsoft MVPs available for
