Having run Avast 4.8 Free for ages I updated to A5.0. Half way through the installation, the process stopped and froze. After 15 minutes I aborted the task. I then found I had no virus protection because A4.0 had been uninstalled. So I tried again to install 5.0, but the user interface says I am ‘Unsecured’. It tells me to click on ‘Fix It’ or ‘start now’ but neither work. The product is registered. A4.8 worked fine using WinXP Home Ed and I can’t see why there is a problem. Can anyone please help?
