Cannot surf the web since update on 10 November

After updating my definitions on 10 November about Midday GMT I could no longer surf the web with the web shield in place. The Internet was working fine I was getting email Skype was working.
When I turned off the web shield all worked fine. I thought it might have sorted itself out after the last update but the problem is still there.
Does anyone have any ideas?
