Normal updates for ClamWin non resident scanner, normally no problem, but now I get an error No servers can be reached. What could this problem be?
Anybody a clue?

No problem here.
Hi, polonus. You may use wise consult from old polonus. ;D
Hi Umath and Bob,
Everything is OK, I was right- the download server of my version was down. Did an uninstall, went to the New York server for a fresh download, reinstalled and the latest update was as smooth as a baby bottom.
greets,
polonus
Polonus, is there a way to choose which server should be used for updating?
I main, can we make a chain list of servers from the best to the worst one, according to personal location?
I just did a clamav database update and a program upgrade in Debian, and it went well.
Tech: You should be able to do that, I think.
You can do it in Linux via the konsole: dpkg-reconfigure clamav-freshclam, and the settings are stored in /etc/clamav/freshclam.conf.
I can’t remember how it’s done in windows, though. ???
If you don’t see any configuration options in the gui, maybe under Tools > Preferences > updates or internet, look for a clamwin.conf in Documents and Settings/username/.clamwin/. Also found this.
How? I can only write one server… (at least into Windows not Linux).
Tech: Yes, it seems you can choose a server, – but only one.
I think implementing a list would be a good idea, though, especially if there are problems updating at times. Maybe you should mention it in the ClamWin forums?
Does anybody knows where can I find a list of available servers?
Hi Tech, inconnu, polonus, Umath, bob3160
I know this is of Topic, but
Wondering if you could tell me if the updates for Winclam is Incremental or not as i am on dial up.
Also i read that when you install winclam you can check a box etc to stop a plug-in for Microsoft Outlook would i let clam win check outlook or not. As i use Avast and don’t want to have any conflicts.
Cheers everyone
The virus database is incremental… I never tested the program one.
AntiVir is making incremental updates from now on (beta). It will be a very good second opinion, non-resident scanner.
Technical
AntiVir is making incremental updates from now onI think you meant ClamWin since that's what this thread is all about.
I think he is really talking about AntiVir… see here:

No, Sasha is right, I’m just trying to share to a dial-up user that other possibilities are comming.
AntiVir incremental updates are very good right now.
Thanks everyone for your input
I might give antivir ago.
Hi Tech i will definitely try out antivir in the next few days as i was not aware that they do incremental updates
Cheers
crofty59, here is a proper way to make your signature as a clickable link:
:: Get Firefox ::
Just copy/paste that line inside CODE box I just gave you, and use it as your signature. You’ll get something like this:
…and not like this (from your current signature):
http://img396.imageshack.us/img396/852/untitled15vq.jpg
You used this, and that’s not what you need:
<a href="http://www.spreadfirefox.com/?q=affiliates&id=134198&t=1">Get Firefox!</a>
That’s standard HTML form, but in forums we use different format of those tags…
Cheers !
Hi S.Z.Craftec
Thanks a million for your advice and showing me how to put a clickable signature in .
As you must realize by now that i am not real bright concerning computers, plus probably with a lot of things
Cheers crofty59
Hello my Australian friend !
First of all, that has nothing to do with your brightness… putting a wrong form of those tags doesn’t make anyone stupid, and I’m sure you are very clever, indeed.
It’s just, in forums we use kinda different form of those tags… everything is actually pretty much the same, but some things are little bit different. I’ve noticed your signature and I was wondering, maybe you are just too shy to ask… ;D
Anyway, I’m glad I could help !
Stick around and if you need an avatar, just PM me… ok ?
Regards !
Sasha
GoodDay my Canada Friend
What i have seen and read about Canada it must be a wonderful place to live.
My mate here visited Canada in 2001 and he is still blown away about how beautiful Canada is and how friendly the people were.
Cheers
Peter
Haha, I’ve heard exactly the same thing about Australia… and believe me I almost ended up in Australia before I decided to move to Canada. I still wish to visit Australia one day… I adore those sunny days, but without humidity… whole summer we had temperatures around 35-42 Celsius degrees here in Toronto (actually pretty same picture was last summer as well), but humididy is killing me… I like when it’s hot outside, but without humidity factor… ughhh…
Take care and talk to you later my friend !
P.S. I’m gonna take a look at my PM box right now…
