Cannot Update

Hi.

Whenever I try to update to the latest version of avast!, but I can’t seem to. Whenever I do it manually, it says:

Error: Cannot Connect to Server

and whenever it updates automatically (well, attempts to), a red box appears saying that it can’t update and that I should try manually, which is what leads to the above problem.

I’ve scanned for viruses with avast and Malwarebytes anti malware, but nothing comes up that seems to be wrong.

I’ve uninstalled then reinstalled avast, but to no avail. Some help on what I can do would be great, thanks.

MBAM and avast! are my only security programs, but I think I have the basic windows defender that comes with windows computers.

Do you think you could tell me how I can go about with the direct connection?
