Cannot Use Chest Client (null)

I used Avast for the first time last evening and moved one item found into the chest as recommended. When I later tried to view the item in the chest I received the following error messages:

“Action was completed with errors”
“Cannot use chest client (null)”
“RPC server is unavailable”

I can view the item removed under ALERT or WARNING, I can’t remember which and I’m not at the PC right now. I ran Avast again and it did not find anything.

Do I need to reinstall Avast or will this problem be corrected when another item is moved to the chest?

A second question: Is it better to NOT scan the archived files? It takes 1 1/2 hours to scan the pc.

A friend also had this problem, but after he used the Avasts repair feature, everything is back to normal
