Avast detected files associated with “newdotnet” or “newdotcom” yesterday on my notebook, which connects through the internet via g-wireless. The computer that I am currently using, a desktop, connects directly to the wireless router.
The internet is virtually futile on the notebook; I only receive about 10 packets before it halts completely. I tried connect the laptop with a cable connected to a second channel on the router, to no avail.
I ran scans with avast, Spyware Doctor, Spybot SD, and Hijackthis. Nothing suspicious has come up. I also deleted all of my Temporary internet files (including offline content), Temporary files, and Cookies.
Should read my post in the following thread :
http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=21578.0 ;
You also may need "LSP-Fix", as mentioned in the
"NEWDOTNET" thread a couple of threads below
yours, especially the post by "Polonus" .
Now I can’t connect on the notebook at all- I get the “Limited or no connectivity” message- not even to the desktop. I tried using LSP fix, and deleted all three entries.
I have a very similar problem. I have 3 same files which are infected. NDNuninstall7_22.exe, newdotnet7_22.dll, uninstall7_22.exe. Except newdotnet7_22.dll is now missing from my system
