Can't Access Genuine Site - Avast Gives No Option To Access

I have the latest version of Avast Premier and have noticed that on one site in particular Avast blocks the site with the message “Did you mean XX?” “This is probably not the site you want to enter”

Under the latest revision of Avast it now only gives me the option to click YES whereas the previous release had the option for YES and NO which meant that I could reject the site Avast incorrectly thinks I want to go to.

How can I stop Avast from trying to redirect me?

What website? We cannot look into your issue without more information.

Make the link inactive by using “hxxp” and not “http”.
Example hxxp.www.website.com

Try checking out the link on the Web of Trust site…

https://www.mywot.com/

Paste the link into the box in the upper right-hand corner of the page, and click on Go.

If it doesn’t come back “green”, that’s likely the reason it’s being flagged.

Hi

This the site I’m trying to access: https://orders.agora.co.uk/972SSBK1997/E972P556/index.htm?pageNumber=2

It’s a secure site (https) so I don’t think that hxxp or equivalent will work

Bazz, the hxxp// is to prevent people accessing a potentially harmful site.

That site loads for me without any problem.

Whether you truly wish to waste your cash on the crap they offer is your choice…

What you were being asked to do is edit the link in your post and replace it with “x’s”…in case it’s malicious, and someone without proper security clicks on it and gets infected.

That said, I pasted the URL into WOT’s reputation checker, and the site does not have any reputation history.

That may have triggered the warning.

Thanks Adrian. I may take up your advice.

Maybe that’s why Avast is not allowing me to go there

Send me £20:00 and you too can have a large envelope full of Bronco paper ))

Guys, appreciate the advice.

Does anyone know how I can just turn this feature off?

I searched for previous similar issues and saw that it may come under Browser Protection but I can’t find this option within the settings menu of Avast

I’d send it you but Avast keeps wanting to direct me elsewhere

I don’t use the Browser Plugins, I think you should have a menu within your browser for plugin settings.

You’d want to disable the SiteCorrect feature there.
(But I would say the detection is correct here - the page you are trying to enter looks like a usual parking page made for possible mis-spell victims, very suspicious, so ordering anything from there is… well, up to you.)
