can't access the avast homepage

my license for avast anti virus expired. I need to register for a new one. but the problem is the site is not working.

The site is working fine here with firefox, as Justin said what is the problem, error messages, etc. ?

Check your hosts file and see if there isn’t an entry for avast.com, although if there was to block access to avast.com, I’m not sure if it would allow you to get to the forums.avast.com sub domain ???

What is your firewall ?
Is there function in it to block a URL or do you have any other security software that might block access ?
