Cant add ANY new contacts with Avast Mobile Installed?

I cant add any new contacts with Avast Mobile installed.

I am allowed to go through the steps to add a contact, it tells me CONTACT SAVED but then I go to my contact list and NOTHING.

Well… I unistalled Avast and my phone MAGICALLY calls this number for .05 seconds:

801-330-6525 -this call was placed automatically AS SOON as I clicked on UNISTALL AVAST MOBILE from my phones settings menu.

Please explain how this would happen?

Seems to me like someone is doing whatever they want even though Avast Mobile had been installed since pretty much day one. Any comments… can I help with any data… I still cant save contacts to my phone (although they seem to go out to someones phone… IE the one above).

So I went to my provider and we took this one down to DISPLAY options when viewing my contact list. However, the option that allowed to display the new saved contacts was VERY strange and had no descriptive entry as do the other ‘syncd’ options.

MIND YOU MY PHONE WAS NOT SET TO SYNC ANYTHING FROM MY ACCOUNTS -but the only reason I had to have an ACCOUNT that was sycable was to download Avast Mobile from the Play store. It would sure be nice to just be able to download it from Avast themselves without having to add accounts we cannot FULLY control (being how ‘locked’ our phones come these days)… Im just say’n. Heck… Id go so far as to call that a security feature!!!

The Agent agreed that it was HIGHLY unusual to have NO DESCRIPTIVE TITLE for the option. So somehow, with Avast Mobile installed; a list was still added to my ‘ACCOUNTS’/‘CONTACTS’ that was hidden from view and was not identified by any name.

How can this happen if Avast Mobile Security is protecting me?

OFF TOPIC: The agent did show me how to ROOT my device, maybe that will lead to better control over it and now I dont have to break the law while the US fixes its position on UNLOCKING my devices.

we don’t validate contact information, there is no way of telling a contact or a group is incorrect or not inserted by the user.

Would you have any guess how this new CONTACT group is being added? Is it normal when utilizing the PLAYSTORE through a GMAIL account? I will reset my phone and try other methods of getting Avast! mobile on my phone (other than the PlayStore which requires I connect my phone to my GMAIL account) and see if Avast! creates this new CONTACT GROUP or if it happens automatically through the PLAYSTORE activity.

it’s most definitely not Mobile Security. It might be through the Gmail account though, it synchronizes your contacts from the phone to your Gmail account and vice versa so it might be you have some contacts stored on your Gmail that are being pushed to your phone somehow.

With all the info coming out on what Google literally steals from you, this wouldn’t surprise me that the Android Play Store is being illicitly handled. I do know that ANY APP I DOWNLOAD from the PlayStore will forward much of my personal information from my phone to the app maker… its in the TOS of the PlayStore.

Im really not enjoying my ‘Smart Phone’ and ‘Android’ experience at this time.

Problem sovled… hard reset my phone and didn’t link my phone to ANY google account.

My Avast Mobile does what its supposed to now!!!
