Can't change scan times

Any ideas why we can’t change the (military) scan times? Tried clearing, overwriting, just won’t let me change the timing!

I don’t believe it is there as an option. I think the 24hr clock is there to avoid possible scheduling problems and confusion over AM/PM.

Even in my XP Pro system if I setup a new scheduled task the time is in 24hr format. However I display my system time in 24hr format, so I don’t know if in doing that the scheduled tasks would also be in the same 24hr format.

Hi, thanks for yr input.

Its not about whether it is a 24 clock, or any other type. It the fact whatever the time we can’t change it. For example if we wanted to change from 12:00 to 09:30, it wont allow us to later the digits.

Seams very strange, almost a bug, and this on a new clean install of XP Pro Sp3.

Do you have admin rights…??

Yes sir only ony one admin user…changed it before from 00:00 to 12:00, now want to change it to 09:30!

Thank you.

Have you tried running a repair of avast and reboot ?, then try the time again.

What version of avast are you using ? you could also try installing avast over the top of your existing copy - might fix that glitch you seem to have, if none of that helps you left with a clean install.

Did you click on ‘OK’ after changing the time…??

Just tested it on my XP system and no problem, changing and then changing back to my original setting weekly scan Sunday at 0:01.

I tried a few times, always clicking the OK button after a change so that it doesn’t revert to the original time. When I come back in the new time is still present. If I change it to 09:30 and click OK and come back in and view the time it is showing 9:30, the leading zero 0 is left off, but it is scheduled for that time.

You could try just clearing the time first and then enter 9:30 not 09:30 and see if that sticks.

Thank you folks for all yr suggestions. (i) it wont let me clear or overtype; I can place the curser there, but its as though the field is locked; hence OK is not doing anything. Thats whats so odd.

I am running version 7.0.1473. Couldn’t see where the option is to run Avast repair?

Repair avast!:

  1. Control Panel → Add/Remove programs → avast!
  2. Click on ‘Repair’.
  3. Follow instructions.
  4. Reboot.

Thank you, will give that a whirl…

You’re welcome.
