can't connect to server?

now i never used avast ever in the past,but today i just chose to download it, but when i went to install it just gave me a message saying “can’t connect to server” So i really don’t know what happend there but here is my log of what might have had happend

Never mind, i got it to work with 2 houres of expermenting.What it was that i still had presents from my past anti viruses and so i had to delete them out my registery and so on.But if someone is having the same problem as i did, you should completely remove any old presents from your old anti virus program(s) before you try to download and update to avast.

Yes, previous AV should be removed before installing new one, many topics in the forum relating to this issue.

Some AVs are notorious for what they leave behind even after an uninstall and this can cause problems too.

Many AVs have uninstall tools because of this very problem, not that they advertise that problem. When you have a problem with a new AV many go straight back to the old one, so me being a trusting sort NOT often wonder if this is by design or simple neglect.
