Can't delete or remove win32:evo-gen

Hi

During a scan on my Mac Avast found Win32:evo-gen. I have tried both to chest an delete the file - but have not succeeded. Avast keeps saying that it failed to chest/delete another file - this other file came from an external drive - connected to my Mac for a year ago - and was discovered by avast and chested. I managed to delete the other file (or the path??? - I don’t know) from the chest but I still can’t chest/delete Win32:evo-gen - Avast still tells me that it failed to chest/delete the other file (even though this file now seems to be deleted from the chest).

How do get Avast to chest/delete Win32: evo-gen?

Since it says .Trash the file may be in your Trash folder, if you really want to get rid of it you may delete it from there.

Win32:Evo-Gen means a SUSPICIOUS file, not 100% an infection.

If you can find the file in Finder upload it to Virustotal.co, if already scanned click reanalyse and post the URL from your URL Bar here

Thanks for the advice. But I am still not sure what to do. Have tried to look for the file in the trash but couldn’t find it. Have now emptied the trash but still not sure whether the file is gone.

I am not quite sure what you mean by uploading the file to virustotal.co? And what about the reanalyse-thing? I mean Avast is done be scanning the computer, but is there a reanalyse-function in Avast that I could use (which I can’t find)?

Virustotal is a free webservice from Google where you can upload files to scan them with 54 Virus engines for threats

LINK: Virustotal.com

You can narrow Avast to scan your users folder under the scan tab i believe
