- Follow instructions.
- Reboot.
- Try again to backup you’re Avast configuration
I uninstalled avast with the removal tool and reinstalled it but nothing has changed … I try to repair anyway?
I’ve tried to repair avast following your instruction but nothing has changed
what’s the problem??
Hi,
what version (build) of avast do you have?
What windows?
Petr
Hi Petr,
I have Avast! Free 8.0.1488.0 on Windows 8 Pro x64.
I Can’t do backup of configuration, and Windows’ Operative Center tells me often that avast is disactivated…
I’ve tried to do a clean install of avast but nothing changed
Might need to create an Avast full dump file and upload to Avast FTP to allow them to investigate if this might be a bug problem in the latest version.
How can I do that?
Try to investigate which backup option makes error.
i.e. try to backup only one setting (e.g. filesystem shield) and write if it was successful or not. If not, makes error only this one or anyone?
Thanks,
pm
I just tried to do the backup of the options one at time and I get the same error from all
OK, it’s helpful, but still I have many questions to you
Did you moved your temp folder?
Isn’t your disk full?
Do you have typical installation at standard location?
Have you single-user or multi-user environment?
Thanks,
pm
- no i don’t if you mean the temp folder C:\Users\Max\AppData\Local\Temp_avast_ ; however I haven’t moved any folder from their own location on C:
- no I have 64,1 GB of free space
- I have all component of the avast free version and avast is installed by default in C:\Program Files\AVAST Software\Avast
- I have only one user (Me) on my laptop with obviously administrative permissions
even with the new update 8.0.1489 I can’t do backup of configuration
Follow the instruction on how to create an Avast full dump file not Minidumps and upload to FTP to incoming directory to investigate you’re problem, when the dump file is finished uploading please report back here by letting them know the file is uploaded name of the zip. When Avast received you’re dump file sit tight and wait for further feedback sometime they email you or here for answers.
How to give a Avast a full dump https://support.avast.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=1061
I’ve just created the full dump file. When completed Avast told me to send automatically…for safety I have also sent it via ftp. I hope you’ve received it.
The name of full dump file is: “20130510_1054_680314408.zip”
Did you received the full dump file?? With the update 1489 nothing is changed I can’t still do backup of avast configuration
however the action center problem seems resolved at the moment
Thanks for sharing it helped me thanks so much
