Also I didn’t install the Ask Toolbar Checker when I updated. Is this something you have to have for Avast to work?Even though I didn’t install the Ask Toolbar Checker I just noticed it is under my ZoneAlarm Firewall Programs Control but I did not let it have access. If I had not have had ZoneAlarm Firewall would the Ask Toolbar Checker have added itself ???
Huh? Ask Toolbar? :o No such thing bundled w/ Avast (hopefully). The Free version offers Google Chrome.
If you’re on a 32bit system make a boot time scan with avast…!!

- No, you don’t need any Ask thingy to run avast…!
- When you already see it in your Firewall, it seems it is indeed already installed. Not leting it access the net doesn’t mean it isn’t on your machine.
- Don’t know what added Ask to your machine, but as doktornotor already stated, it was not avast…!!

Okay I made a mistake. The Ask Install Checker came with the newest version of Limewire and not Avast.I opted out and didn’t accept it or install it but it is in my ZoneAlarm Firewall.I don’t have it allowed but I better go hunt for it.Zonealarm says it is in my here. Product name Ask Install Checker
File name C:\Documents and Settings\Mike\Local Settings\Temp\toolbarChecker.exe Anyways Avast wouldn’t do a full scan before I downloaded Limwire to get some songs for a neighbor.I found that System File Avast gets hung up on under the MachineKeys under Crypto\RSA and it is only 1.70KB.I scanned it with MalwareBytes,SpybotSearch&Destroy and SuperAntiSpyware.I also had virus total to scan it and all of the above are clean.I would love to know what that system file is.I will try the Boot Scan as suggested. Thanks I need it.I searched some old files and found 2 Avira files AntivirClassic and Premium.Have used them both.I deleted them and that was stupid of me because they were in the MachineKey Folder and now MalwareBytes is hanging on the same file as Avast is.I did use GoBack and they are back but Avast and MalewareBytes both are hanging now.Grrrrrrr computers.
You’re welcome…!
Use Ccleaner to clean your system/registry: http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner

Okay here is and update.I still can’t do a Full System scan with Avast.Just the quick scan or individual files.I just found out something strange.I can go to that hidden file that locks up Avast and do a manual scan with Avast and it will scan it without locking up.It is the hidden Folder C;\Documents and Settings\All Users\ApplicationData\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA\MachineKeys Also MalwareBytes is working again just fine.I clicked Start then My Computer then C:Drive and clicked on it for properties and tools/I ran the Scan and Automaticly Fix File System Errors.I do use CCLeaner as suggested and a Paid Version of Registry Mechanic. Thanks for the link to the Ask Removal.I don’t understand why Avast will not do a Full system without locking up on the All Users\ApplicationData\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA\MachineKeys but will scan this hidden Folder with a manual scan.???
I just wanted to thank everyone for there help.It is working now with the Full Scan. Thanks asyn. After doing that Boot Scan it didn’t find anything but for some reason it started doing the manual Full Scan after that. Thanks to all.I stayed awake so long trying to fix this last night that I fell asleep in my computer chair twice and I fell out of my chair once.LOL…THANKS
You’re very welcome…!! Hope you’re out of this chair now…
