Whenever i try to download Avast free from here i get the “hey wait, just one more thing” popup which won’t let me click the “No thanks, i want free protection” link to continue to the download. It’s a bit…scammy.

Yes, you get the promotion to purchase the Avast! Internet Security version, but for me the button for the free versions goes straight to Cnet download.com for the download, weird.
I totally agree. If perspective clients don’t have the link below it can be
soooooooooooooooooooooo…Scammy. If it’s free why have a pop up that you can’t x out or click
“No thanks” to. Totally Scammy!!!
You don’t have to x out of it, just choose the free download and that’s it. You can always use Alt+F4 keys together to close a window if it doesn’t have the X and you don’t want to proceed.
