cant download free avast

hi im new to this and very green so any help would be most greatfull, when i download free avast when i exe it at the end it always says file corrupt or it was spawning try again, i have deleted cache

Are you downloading and saving the file to your computer or, are you trying to run it
directly from the download ???
Always download and save the file to your computer. Were are you getting the download from and which version of avast are you downloading ?

Where are you downloading Avast from? Did you remove your previous antivirus first. Download Avast right from here.

from site called cnet, previous 1 was uninstalled, tried your link same thing it reads. an error 0 (oooooooo) has occured, Last performed operationwas ; spawning

  1. Download avast! Free Antivirus: http://files.avast.com/iavs5x/avast_free_antivirus_setup.exe
  2. Follow instructions: http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed avast! versions…!!)
  3. Reinstall avast! with the downloaded installer from point 1.
  4. Reboot.

No need to run the Avast Uninstaller cause he never installed Avast. His downloads are corrupted. Maybe be malware related and or a Windows error problem.

  • OS…?? (32/64 Bit…? - which SP…?)
  • Other security related software installed…??
  • Which AV did you use before avast!..??
