hello, all. i cannot download avast home!! i’m on dial-up (always have been), and after maybe 30 minutes, i get a message that “the connection with the server was reset.”
i’m using IE; i’ve downloaded other things (this is a new desk-top) that were too large to e-mail to myself…and i’ve trashed the norton that came with the 'puter.
any ideas?
Yes, download and install Free Download Manager (http://www.freedownloadmanager.org/download.htm)
It will be able to resume your download if the connection is droped, or anything weird occurs

still seems weird that i can download all sorts of things other than avast, though 
Welcome to the forums, jmte. 
Also see this post by david as Norton is infamous for leaving behind junk files/registry entries that will foul any other av program.

oh, i gave it a good scrubbing and ferreted out anything NAV. and the download proggie worked–thanks.
