Can't Download...page cannot be displayed (x64 OS)

Hi All…

I’ve been trying now for 2-full days to download the 4.x Home for my friend with the newer XP PRO x64 OS. We only just fully realized that his free antivirus program (CA which SBC_Yahoo supplies with their DSL software) can not stop anything in real-time. I tried downloading Avast 4.x Home from his pc (after restoring it best as possible), but every attempt to download failed. ???

Then I tried several times today from over here on my pc (which is in fine shape) and received the same exact failures: “The page cannot be displayed”. I’m at a complete loss as to what’s wrong. :cry:

It’s working fine here.
Do the both of you have the same ISP?
Do you use a proxy server?

JrBach, which firewallare you using?
Can’t you right click the link and choose ‘save as’ on the context menu?

Although, I’ve tried right now and got the same…

Try a different source, some have used avast! 4 Home - download.com with no problem.

Eddy…no proxy here, we both use SBC_Yahoo DSL
Tech…ZA is mine, while friend’s is just the one integrated in x64 OS

I easily d/l’d it thru DavidR weblink…Thanks a Bunch! ;D

Still…I have to wonder why I have no problem d/l’ing anything anywhere anytime…but just can’t get AVAST from their own site ???

There has been some trouble recently with DNS resolving I believe with the downloads, but updates, web site, forums, etc. are working fine. Hopefully this is temporary.

As an afterthought, I tried to download the documentation in case I needed some reference…I couldn’t download it either. :cry:
