I’ve downloaded Home edition several times, and can’t find it on desktop or in docs, downloads, via search, zilch. Does Avast not work with Vista 64 bit?

which browser or download-manager are you using?
Have you tried searching for “setupeng.exe”? (The name of the installer package)
The setup is the same as for Windows 32 and does it job. avast indeed work on Vista 64 bits…
Well the information on system requirements, etc in in the avast site where you downloaded the avast Home version and the answer is it does support 64bit OSes XP and Vista.
