Can't get pop mail

Installed the new update and can no longer get email from POP accounts in Outlook unless I disable Avast (everything but spam filter). Not helpful to need to disable so much that the tool is supposed to provide. Any suggestions.

windows 8 current version. Outlook 2013. AVAST version 2015.10.0.2208
virus definition: 141204-0.

Did you imported the avast certificate?
If not, please do so and see if that solved the problem.
