cant get rid of virus

i have just reactivated my avast but it cant get rid of the virus

file name : c:\program files\comp.exe
malware name : win32: trojan-gen {other}
malware type: virus/worm
vps version 090611-0, 11/06/2009

any help would be great thanks

Are you using Windows XP/Vista?
Can you schedule a boot-time scanning?
Start avast! > Right click the skin > Schedule a boot-time scanning.
Select for scanning archives.
Boot.
If infected files are found, it’s safer to send them to Chest instead of deleting them.
This way you can further analysis them.

im trying to send it to the chest but it comes up saying

the process cannot access the file becasue it is being used by another process
cannot process c:\program files\netmeeting\comp.exe"file

At boot time or running avast into Windows?

a virus was founed poped up when i started avast

i will try the boot time scan now
