Can't get the debug log to get filled

Hi,
I’m facing 2 problems: once the WEB shield is activated, I can’t get the following site (www.ofcra.org) displayed on IE7.0.5730.11 (the latest one) while it’s still possible with Firefox or Opera ???
In order to understand what happens, I tried to activate the debug level of logging (either through the log viewer settings or through the main settings), but it has no effect :'(: the debug.log remains nearly empty (14 lines) and does not display what happens when I use IE7, BTW I checked also the other log files of AVAST but they do not catch more about my problem :(.

I activated the details in the WEB shield; the files checked get displayed but no problem is signaled, even when the site is blocked.
Though suspending the WEB shield gets it to work again :o

So have you any idea about how to debug what happens?

Both LinkScanner and Dr. Web related that site is clean.
Does this blocking occur with any other site?

I did not remarked it failed elsewhere, but I nearly do never use IE (indeed I was making a try with it on the site to check it after a migration of the site and a first problem raised).
The root cause of the problem with the site is certainly somewhere within the site itself but until now I have not been able to figure out where it is (I am only an user of the site, so without accessing the source code of the site and without any trace in an error log on my side it’s a bit too tricky for me :slight_smile: ).

Beside the problem with the site, is there a way to get a verbose debug.log? (with all check operations detailed in it?)

Put the log level on Debug and check the log: C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\DATA\log\Debug.log
Are you saying that you want a log of WebShield (internet traffic) or Mail Provider?

The one I would need is a log of the WebShield.
I am and was in debug level of log but here is the content of the debug.log after encountering the bug 2 minutes ago(current time here is 21:32)

No entry for 21 minutes, though I browsed a few pages meanwhile.
If I set the detailed infos of the WebShield to be displayed, I can see what is being processed, but it does not get printed in the log ???

Activate logging in WebShield:

  1. Edit \data\avast4.ini file
  2. Find the section [WebScanner]
  3. Add the line:
    EnableLogging=1
  4. Restart Web Shield in XP (terminate and start again) or whole PC in case of Win98
  5. Browse (trying to access some webpages)

The log file are \data\log\ashwebsv.log and ashwebsv.ws.
They would be accessible when WebShield is terminated again.
Post them here or send by mail to rypacek (at) asw.cz
After that, disable the logging to avoid a big log file.
