Can't get the Start/Pause/Resume popup back after closing it

Scenario:

I have a scheduled scan running and I close the popup that shows progress and Start/Stop/Pause/Resume.

Now I want to Pause the scan but I can’t because the popup doesn’t reappear no matter what I do.

I think I have figured this out at last.

What I need to do is select Scheduled Scan from the list of Scan types in the drop down and then I get the option to Pause or Stop.

What do you do to bring up the pop up? Usually, after closing it, you can bring the pop up back by right clicking on the tray icon and click ‘show last pop up message’
