When I try to login to the ADNM, it says that there is a problem with my licence (see attachment #1). However, as you can see from attachmnet #2, my licence is valid. Also, when I re-load the licence I am getting an error for the AVEngine in attachment #3. I have received that error before, and never been able to resolve it.
However, the MOST pressing matter is not being able to log into the ADNM. Please HELP!
This is a problem with the SSL certificate rather than the licence. Check if the certificate is valid (click Certificate… in the AMS Maintenance Tool).
Thanks. I did that. I first checked the certificate. It said it was out of date. So, I clicked “generate New” and it created a new one. However, now, it is telling me that my own server, which it is running on, is not trusted. what should I do now?
It is OK. The certificate is not trusted because it was created (and signed) by you and not any certification authority. You don’t need need a certificate signed by a certification authority if you don’t use it for public services. If you want to be really sure about the authenticity of the certificate presented by the console, you would need to check that its public key matches the public key of the certificate at the AMS (only the first time if you then select to store it).
Well, we don’t use it for public services at all. I just want to be able to log into the ADNM console and use it. I am still not able to do that. How can I log in, since the certificate not being trusted is not an issue? What can I do to log in without a problem? Please guide me through this.
You need to restart the ‘avast! Management Server’ service after you generated the new certificate. Then after you type name and password in the Log On dialog of the console, click ‘Permit and store’ in the ‘New Certificate’ dialog.
