can't get to safe mode or boot from cd

I can’t get my keyboard to work to enter safe mode or to boot from a cd, it does work to enter setup I changed the settings in windows to boot from cd drive but it says hit any key to do that and keyboard does not work. Any suggestions does it sound like a virus?

is it a wireless keyboard?
if so…try with a wired keyboard…

no standard wired keyboard not wireless

I ran the recomended tests with no malicous software/malware present, son did change the motherboard in that cpu maybe that is why keyboard does not work at those 2 points. Any suggestions?

To boot from CD you need to change your BOIS boot order settings not windows settings, unless you meant changed the BOIS settings.
