Hi,
We have Avast Pro. I used ADNM to create an msi file. It’s been installing on XP Pro fine. This is the first time installing on Vista Business Edition SP1. I normally browse to the msi file and run it off the network. When I do that now, I get prompted by Vista’s security to allow the program to install but nothing happens after that. If I remember correctly I created the msi to not force a reboot. We would then simply reboot after a short period of time and see it in the Sys Tray. Not with Vista. On the avast system requirements website it shows Vista as compatible: http://avast.com/eng/system-requirements-avast-professional.html. Any ideas?
If I am correct you can’t install Pro on Vista business, you need another version for that.
Another version? Why? I have Windows Vista Business 32bits and avast Pro ???
I can confirm that this is still a problem.
Running ADNM and have created a package to install the managed client manually.
Works great on XP, but nothing installs on Vista.
Vista is fully patched with SP1 and all patches that has come after that.
I’ve tried both with UAC running, and with it off, but it won’t install.
Pushing out the client from the server works though.
Please look into this.
Ok, found a solution to the problem in another thread.
It’s not pretty, but it works.
Right-click on the package, and chose to uninstall (duh!).
Then run the installation again, and it will work as it was supposed to do in the first place!
Good to hear you have found a solution. Take care.
