Can't launch, repair, or uninstall Avast - what is going on???

I am running Win 7 Professional 64bit.

I noticed that Avast wasn’t running today, however when I try to launch nothing happens. I tried running as administrator, still nothing. I went in to control panel and tried to remove/repair and nothing happens either. I downloaded a new install and it won’t even launch that!

I downloaded avastclear and ran from safemode, but it won’t launch either!

I have tried installing/uninstalling other software and it only seems to be avast. I ran a Trend Micro House Call which came up clean, so I am reasonably sure I don’t have a virus.

Can someone please tell me what is going on here!

It won’t let me install malwarebytes either apparently, not looking good.

You have a group policy malware

Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop.

Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system. If you are not sure which version applies to your system download both of them and try to run them. Only one of them will run on your system, that will be the right version.

[*]Right click to run as administrator (XP users click run after receipt of Windows Security Warning - Open File). When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
[*]Select additions at the bottom
[*]Press Scan button.

[*]It will produce a log called FRST.txt in the same directory the tool is run from.
[*]Please attach both logs generated.
