Can't log into ADNM from remotely

Hi,

We have a server (I’ll call it Laval). On the server Laval which has AMS installed (licensed and the latest, I believe) I am able to log into ADNM and do whatever. I’m logging in with the default administrator account.

Now so that I don’t have to take a long walk to the server room, I installed ADNM on my Win XP machine with SP2 and XP firewall enabled.

But, I can’t log into the Laval server with ADNM. It finds the server on Laval. Yet it gives me the window:

“An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host. uNable to login as Administrator or connection error.”

See attached.

Now since I can get as far as I did, it can’t be a firewall issue. I even disabled the firewall with no difference.

Something missing?

Please check if the “avast Management Server” is started (Administrative Tools → Services).
If not, try to start it and verify that it doesn’t die shortly after starting. If it does, please check the Event Log, Antivirus category.
