cant login to avast software

i reset my computer and reinstalled avast. when i go to login i keep getting a message saying internal server error. any suggestions?

What do you mean you can’t login to?
Do you mean the software failed to install?

Do you mean you can’t insert a paid license?

  1. Did you save the paid license?
  2. If not to have license resent to you use https://www.avast.com/en-us/resend-license-paid.php

it installed but i cant login to my account on the software itself. tells me internal server error.

I’m a little unsure as to exactly where you are trying to logon, if this is trying to logon to your avast account at my.avast.com.

Try logging on to my.avast.com using your browser.

If you performed a factory reset on the system, did you remove any pre-installed av before installing avast ?

In every version of Avast you can log into Avast through the PC Application. This gives you some additional access to see what other items are on your account, report to your control avast global control panel and see your licenses.

I’m pinging this thread because I don’t see the option in v17.1 either. This is the first version of Avast this wasn’t extremely obvious where to login. It’s fairly frustrating.

By pinging an old topic, you are missing the very recent ones where this is an acknowledge issue. It was removed for reworking/redesign and should be back in the future. When exactly wasn’t given.

Those topics also gave a few workarounds on how to access the avast account from another area in the UI. Or if required to connect your installation to your account.

I searched the topic and this is the one that came up.

Unfortunately the forum search isn’t great and you have to have a good search string or it throws up all sorts of unrelated topics.

You get much better results with Google

You’ll find a step by step example of using what Eddy described here:
