Can't Newbies edit their own profiles?

Hello,

I am wondering why I cannot seem to edit my own Profile. Is it because I am a “Newbie”? When I go to the Profile screen, I don’t have any options other than the account settings, so I can’t edit my location, etc. I have looked several times, and even logged out and back in, but no change. I registered for the Forum in kind of a hurry last month so that I could post for some help with malware removal. Now I thought I’d like to add a few more details to my profile but it doesn’t seem to be an option.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

20 posts and more you should be able to.

Its a spam protection that i did hear.

Mr.Agent,

So until I have posted at least 20 times, I can’t update my profile? Hmm…guess I should have paid more attention when I was setting it up initially - guess I’m on “probation” now. ::slight_smile:

Thanks.

As i did hear that exactly what was explain.

Dont worry its easy to got 20 posts.

yeah, and then there’ll be a test, questions about your past etc… just the usual stuff  good luck

That you are! [on probation]

Don’t take it personally though, everyone has/had this limitation. As Mr.Agent explains, it won’t take long to get 20 posts, but don’t post random stuff just to get there. That’s frowned upon on any forum.

;D

Exactly scythe did resume my things very well.

Ok, thanks for the info. I will resist posting randomly just to get to 20 - this is a legitimate reply, right?

Uh-oh…and a test. I’d better start taking notes.

Thanks again. BTW, I’ve appreciated the help I’ve received so far in trying to get rid of the System Tool malware (and whatever ELSE seems to be infecting my computer - there seem to be multiple attackers :frowning: ). Essexboy and others have been very clear and helpful.

Cheers!

P.S. Ohhh, 10 posts - I’m already half-way there! ;D

Keep browsing the forums and I’m sure you will find many topics in the General forum that you can legitimately contribute to without being considered spamming/meaningless posts ;D
