I have had some viruses/worms/trojans attack my computer… I am pretty sure I have cleaned it all out, but I can’t load www.google.com.au or perform any searches that require google or yahoo. Can you help me solve my problem please? I know how to use a computer to do what I have to do, but other than that, I am pretty computer dumb. need info in very clear english, sorry.
Check out your hosts file for any suspicious entries- especially any concerning Google. If you find any, you can simply rename the file and Windows will create a new one.

Check your DNS settings- the IP addresses should be those provided by your ISP (unless you use OpenDNS).

Also check the DNS settings on your router/modem.
I don’t know what you have tried already in the way of anti-malware programs, but try these two if you haven’t already.

Avoid Dial-a-fix… it does not work in more up-to-date computers.
