Try creating a dump og the frozen ashLogV.exe.
Just right-click its entry in the Task Manager (Processes tab) and select “Create Dump File”. Then upload the file to ftp://ftp.avast.com/incoming (as described here http://support.avast.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=18).
