I’m starting to feel as though this company is a group of SCAM Artist!
I have tried talking to Tech Support and have tried to get into communications
with Customer Support but I keep being hung up on!
I have repeatedly asked for assistance in removing Automatic Renewal to which
NO ONE from Tech or Customer support will help me with.
I did manage to find an answer on yahoo that led me to the “Look up your order” page and
I was able to view my order and see that the automatic renewal was turned on but when I
click the manage button to change the auto renewal I am led to another page that wants
me to re-enter my email address (which I do) and it says in red: “enter a valid email”
and it will not let me past that portion. I have even gone as far as changing my password
to see if that was the issue - IT WASN’T! >:(
I am starting to believe that this company is intentionally blocking me from altering my automatic
renewal setting. This is very frustrating as I did not give them permission to have it on automatic
renewal in the first place!
If anyone can assist me on this issue it would be greatly appreciated.
I would like AVAST to know that I have been printing and filing away every error page along
with all customer support and technical support emails. I am documenting everything for my protection
and if I see another charge on my account I will not hesitate to gather up said documents and present
them in the court of law.
Very frustrating I know.
If all else fails, contact whoever the bank, credit card, paypal etc with original purchase receipt/recipient and put a stop on any further debit by the seller.

I recently renewed by Premier License on XP and the selling agent for my transaction was ‘Nexway’ and having renewed my licenses many times I knowingly “Unchecked” the auto renewal box after clicking a “more information” link.
Troubling however, are the posts stating they (users) had made sure auto renewal wasn’t checked BUT still they are getting Auto Renewal Notices, :-\
I again can only go by my own experience. 2 licenses just expired, neither auto renewed. I received many popups requesting that I renew but, that isn’t the same.
My only problem now is to remove the expired licenses from my avast.com account.
Have tried this Bob, it says invalid email.
I downloaded avast directly from the site itself.
I was not given an option to have or not have automatic renewal turned on/off.
Originally my avast was the trial version and after it expired it gave me
a couple of options to download a license “at a discount” which I did
the one that was $34.99. Upon checking my license today by logging
in online I noticed that my license said automatic renewal, so I tried to
change my settings for that and it refuses to let me do so. It will either
tell me invalid email which is preposterous because on my invoice
it says my email, my subscription information and the serial number,
not to mention avast has emailed me directly to that email so
I know that is a joke in itself. Since this company has made it apparent
that they want to fraudulently charge my account I have taken some
necessary precautions to stop that. If I continue to have issues or see
any claims on my credit there is always the good court of law I wouldn’t
mind taking this company to!

i have just bought a subscription and i didn’t opt for the auto renewal and i’ve just had to hunt for the disable option. Not only that i have been charged twice, one to the card i paid on which i have no issue with however, some how my main bank account was charged the same amount at the same time yet i never put those details in. i have sent all day attempting to get hold of someone to actually speak to, sent emails to complaints and had no response or acknowledgement that an email has even been received. i now can not even locaet the original complaint emails as i had to do it on the websites. what are my options now as i a furious and the lack of some one to contact is making me feel even more helpless.
How do I just donate money to AVAST. I’m using the free version for business. I don’t want the “pro” version. I don’t want “Automatic Renewal”. I don’t want a recurring charge on my PayPal account. I want the portability that comes with the Free version. Where’s a “Donate via PayPal” button to be found ?
I have the same issue as poster… They do not give you the option to uncheck (i looked for 20 minutes before confirming order) In the Terms it states, by confirming purchase you agree to auto renewal…etc…
They further go on to say that if you wish to change you have to go to the order portal (this info was provided by i believe bob.)
If you look at the FAQ page it shows that after hitting Manage subscriptions it shows the immediate next step is to change the settings…
this is not the case for OP and I.
