Can't remove malware

Please help me to fix this…

I inserted an usb drive into my laptop and scanned it while opening the drive many files are not visible, and folders were displayed as shortcuts.
after that i could see that below 2 urls are invoked at regular intervals and blocked by avast
hxtp://nnh42.name/a/
hxtp://jsh37.net/a/

Also i could see a lot of windows update icon in system tray.

I can’t install Malwarebyte and cannot run adwcleaner. OTL is closing as soon as opened
I’ve runned the RogueKiller, as I saw in other post, the reports are attached.

Thanks!

Hi lets try this little programme first, once done then retry OTL

Please download OTM

[*] Save it to your desktop.
[*] Please double-click OTM to run it. (Note: If you are running on Vista, right-click on the file and choose Run As Administrator).
[*]Copy the lines in the codebox below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose Copy):

:Files
 C:\Users\Fabiana\AppData\Roaming\4e8

:Commands
[purity]
[resethosts]
[emptytemp]
[CREATERESTOREPOINT]
[Reboot]

[*]Return to OTM, right click in the “Paste Instructions for Items to be Moved” window (under the yellow bar) and choose Paste.

[*]Click the red Moveit! button.
[*]Copy everything in the Results window (under the green bar) to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose copy), and paste it in your next reply.
[*]Close OTM and reboot your PC.

Note: If a file or folder cannot be moved immediately you may be asked to reboot the machine to finish the move process. If you are asked to reboot the machine choose Yes.

really thanks, essex! I’m working on my dissertation and I really need my computer working fine!
I’ve runned the OTM, here are the results!

however, it’s not possible to run otl yet, it closes while is starting

OK we will try DDS next and that will allow me to see where the blockage is

Please download DDS and save it to your desktop.

[*]Disable any script blocking protection[*] Double click dds.scr to run the tool. [*]When done, DDS.txt will open. [*]Click Yes at the next prompt for Optional Scan. [*]Save both reports to your desktop.

Please attach the contents of the following in your next reply:

DDS.txt

Man, when i click on the link, the web page opened stand white, even if i copy the address of the link. So, I couldn’t install the program you said.
I runned otl in the safe mode… does it help? It has generated just one file, I attach it to you…

thanks!

Safe mode works for me… Run this fix in safe mode and allow it to reboot to normal mode
Once in normal mode let me know how it is behaving

Warning This fix is only relevant for this system and no other, using on another computer may cause problems

Be advised that when the fix commences it will shut down all running processes and you may lose the desktop and icons, they will return on reboot

Run OTL

[*]Under the Custom Scans/Fixes box at the bottom, paste in the following

THEN

Download McShield to your desktop and install
It will initially run a scan and show the result as a toaster by the system clock
Then in the control centre select scanner and tick unhide items on flash drives

https://dl.dropbox.com/u/73555776/mcshield%20unhide.JPG

Plug in the drive and allow McShield to scan it

Then get the log which will be here :

Start > all programs > MCShield > logs > all scans

And post that

just that, i got a malware that i can’t remove. it’s exactly the same problem, the process associated to this malware is “wscript.exe”. any ideas?

start your own topic and you will get help

Yes - Please create your own new topic, here http://forum.avast.com/index.php?board=4.0 in the viruses and worms forum (click the New topic button at the top of the page see image) and we will try and help you there.

Go to this topic http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0 for information on Logs to assist in cleaning malware. Use the information about getting and using the tools and start your own new topic and attach the logs there, not in the LOGS or this topic.

Perfect!
I’ve followed all the steps…
Here are the files…
Is everything ok?
Thank you!

How is the computer running now ?

yep… perfectly, essexboy! really thanks

Subject to no further problems

I will remove my tools now and give some recommendations, but, I would like you to run for 24 hours or so and come back if you have any problems

Now the best part of the day ----- Your log now appears clean

A good workman always cleans up after himself so…The following will implement some cleanup procedures as well as reset System Restore points:

Run OTL and hit the cleanup button. It will remove all the programmes we have used plus itself.

We will now confirm that your hidden files are set to that, as some of the tools I use will change that
[*]Click Start.
[*]Open My Computer.
[*]Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
[*]Select the View Tab.
[*]Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Do not show hidden files and folders.
[]Click Yes to confirm.
[
]Click OK.

Clear Restore Points

Go Start > All Programmes > Accessories > System tools
Right click Disc Cleanup and select run as administrator
When it pops up at the first prompt select OK after it has done some calculations the tabs will appear
Select More Options tab
Press Sytem Restore and Shadow Copies Cleanup button

https://dl.dropbox.com/u/73555776/disc%20clean.JPG

Now that you are clean, to help protect your computer in the future I recommend that you get the following free programmes:

http://img233.imageshack.us/img233/7729/mbamicontw5.gif
Malwarebytes.

Update and run weekly to keep your system clean

Download and install FileHippo update checker and run it monthly it will show you which programmes on your system need updating and give a download link

If you use on-line banking then as an added layer of protection install Trusteer Rapport

It is critical to have both a firewall and anti virus to protect your system and to keep them updated. To keep your operating system up to date visit
[*]Microsoft Windows Update
