First, I’m an Avast user and not an Avast Team member.
Why do you feel the need to do this - Do you still have Avast Installed ?
Avast’s self-defence module would prevent you from doing this.
I DO NOT HAVE AVAST INSTALLED. I uninstalled it in safe mode but forgot to disable self-defense protection. Use the app to uninstall it. I uninstalled it due to a vulnerability in the av kernel that exists.
If you downloaded and ran the Avast Clean-uninstall utility from safe mode, then all should have been removed.
If you just uninstalled Avast from safe mode and didn’t use the utility, then I think there are likely to be remnants.
- Download the avast! Uninstall Utility, avastclear.exe
- Avast Removal Tool | Download Avast Clear | Avast
- and save it to your HDD. Make a note of the steps required or print the page.
That said if that registry key isn’t causing any issues (or is it) ?
Is it worth downloading and running the clean uninstall-utility program from safe mode
take ownership … right click and select permissions … give full access to everyone
Leaving it in the registry will also not harm anything
