I’m using Windows 7 (Home Premium, SP1) and the newest version of Avast (17.1.2286). I didn’t have problems the first couple days but now when I use the Smart Scan, it gets frozen on the resolving issues screen like in the picture. Tried repairing Avast and rebooting but the same thing keeps happening.
Also, I can’t do another Smart Scan when this happens unless I log out of Windows or reboot.
There is currently a new beta out which hs a number of fixes included, I don’t know if this is one of them. They say that this beta won’t last long before a program update is released (date not known).
I’ve got the same problem, screen freezes on the resolving issues page. Started yesterday I’m Windows 10 Avast Premier. Is this a new problem and will it be fixed with a new update. I tried repairing AVAST via the program/change/repair. Didn’t work.
I thought of doing the same thing, but then that is usually the only one where there is an “issue” and I wonder if the same thing would happen if the scan found something in the other categories.
@Akitori: If that’s the actual problem it’s not so bad. I wondered whether, should it find an issue that free can fix, it would do the same thing or simply announce that your problem is fixed? The release so far seems pretty buggy on the visible side; makes you wonder about the invisible side ???
The free version of cleanup as far as I’m aware only checks for issues that could be cleaned up, this is a bit of a hook if you feel it is worth buying. It will only clean up if you purchase the full paid version of cleanup. So I’m not sure if this is the reason it can’t resolve.
Before you actually clicked the Resolve button, what was shown in the window ?
Some time ago there used to be issues reported in the Network scan, when you ran the smart scan, yet if you ran the network scan on its own everything was OK. I just get wonder if this isn’t the same sort of thing.
I’m experiencing the same situation with Avast Premier (same software as quoted otherwise): the Avast screen locks on the “resolving issues” page. Also, I have the paid version of Avast Cleanup, so I would rather not uninstall that unless necessary (likely not refundable). Are there any actions I might take to resolve this or should I just wait to see if there is a pending Avast update?
I am also having this issue. I just installed Avast Internet Security (paid version) on a newly imaged Windows 10 Pro x64 OS. When I try to run a smart scan, I get stuck at the “resolving issues” screen (see attachment). Please help!
Just to add to my yesterdays post. My Avast Premier and its components eg Cleanup/VPN/ Passwords etc are all paid for, so it’s not just the free version having this problem. I’ve also got Malwarebytes premier installed.
Thanks. Just checking.
There have been some users who assumed that using Avast Premier paid for every thing else.
I can conform the problem and have reported it to Avast.
Let’s wait for their reply.
(NOT fixed in the beta. )
