cant restart computer after downloading avast

i downloaded avast internet security but after installing it computer restarted and only comes up with a small window showing interactive login error does anyone have any ideas how to stop this happening only way i can get computer started again is going in on safe mode deleting avast and computer works ok then any help would be grateful cheers

what antivirus did you have before you installed avast ?
have you uninstalled it ?

no anti virus on computer it had just come back from acer and rebooted from start

Why was your machine at acer? Were you having problems? What was being done on it? Did you have malware on your machine?

Did you have other security software on your machine (firewall, trial versions of any antivirus / firewall/ other security software), AV)?

What security software are you currently (antivirus, firewall, other security software) besides AIS (Avast Internet Security = AIS)?

Do you mean this is a new computer…?
If yes, they usually come with a pre-installed AV.
If I remember right Acer comes with Norton…

They used to do that, but now it is McAfee......the one`s sold here in Norway....

So, if it’s an older machine (coming from repair…??) remove Norton, or if it’s a new one remove McAfee…!!

thanks for all your replies found problem eventually there is a glitch between acer finger print activation and avast softwear took three engineers to find it but all ok now :slight_smile:
