I have the two icons, a and i, in the system tray. When I hoover the mouse over the “i” icon it says "avast! Virus Recover Database (VRDB) Generator, but when I right click, nothing happens and the status box says no VRDB generated.
Any ideas?

Did you try right clicking the a icon?
This is what you should see when you right click on the ‘i’ icon, see image.
I presume the right click function works for other windows processes, e.g. in explorer, etc. ?
If so try a repair of avast. Add Remove programs, select ‘avast! Anti-Virus,’ click the Change/Remove button and scroll down to Repair, click next and follow.
Are you using Vista?
Vista got nothing to do in that problem i still got Vista and i can do what he say
Yes, me too.
I’m just trying to follow if UAC is involved in somehow. ashdisp.exe runs with non-elevated privileges and maybe, it’s weird, it could be related.
If you have a program running with UAC privileges in system tray, there is a possibility of right clicking be blocked. I have one application in this situation…
Ah ok ![]()
Are you sure that you’re using avast home?
If you’re at work, it might be because the ADNM console has it locked out…
