Why Avast can’t scan the files or folders? When I right click to select the folder or file to scan, nothing happen. When I click start button in the “Select folder to scan”, the program look like stop. I need to stop the program in order to exit the program.
I believe the right click ashQuick.exe scan doesn’t display any information unless there is an alert or you set it to display results.
When you use the Folder scan, clicking the Select folder to Scan, it opens a window so that you can actually select a folder/partition to scan. This explorer like window has check boxes to the left of the folders, etc. you have to check one of those before clicking OK (image1), which will then start the scan (image2).
When I clicked the “Select folder to Scan”, no windows pop up for me to select the folder and the Avast stop (no respond to my click).
Even when I right click the file in the Windows Explore, the pop window has option for Avast “Scan ‘file name’”. I selected the Avast Scan file option and nothing happen.
There is something conflicting with avast and is blocking the window (my image1 before) from being displayed.
Have (or did) you another Anti-Virus installed in this system, if so what was it and how did you get rid of it ?
What other security software do you have installed, firewall, anti-spyware, etc. ?
Seems like the same conflict blocking the scan or a problem with avast!
- Try a repair of avast:
XP - Add Remove programs, select ‘avast! Anti-Virus,’ click the Change/Remove button and scroll down to Repair, click next and follow.
Vista, win7 - Control Panel, Programs & Features, uninstall a program, select ‘avast! Anti-Virus,’ click the Change/Remove button and scroll down to Repair, click next and follow.
You may need to reboot after the repair.
I did the repair option for Avast. It work.
Thanks.
No problem, glad I could help.
