Can't see Netflix with Avast VPN?

Hi Everyone

I just bought Avast secure VPN, and is trying to connect to Netflix through USA, but when I click on a Titel I get the Error message “It’s looks like you are using some kind of Proxy/unblocker, please turn this off and try again”

Is there anyway around this?

No, Netflix is detection something they do not like and are blocking it.

Netflix has cracked down hard on VPN use this past year and blocking every vpn IP address they can find.

Detecting the VPN (IP) is not the only way they are blocking people from viewing things illegally.

I believe it has to do with copyright infringement; certain media can only be legally viewed in certain countries.

Which is dumb as hell. We pay same price as US people and yet get like what, 1/4 of the content they have? Ugh… We can debate licensing and other nonsense, but it’s really not cool what they are doing and people understandably want to get what others get for same price. Even if that means finding ways to get around…

It indeed has to do with copyright.
Here in Europe it depends on the country what you can (or can’t) watch on Netflix.
However that is about to change as the European commission already has announced changes in the rules so everyone in Europe can watch the same thing on a streaming service like Netflix independent on what country one is in.

I have had some luck connecting to the U.S. Netflix libraries (from Europe) by testing the different connections on offer. While Nertflix blocked my access when using the Chicago server, it worked fine with the New York P2P one.
