Hi, I updated 2 days ago to Avast version 2015.10.2.2218. It maybe a coincidence but now I am unable to send emails from MS Outlook 2010 although I can still receive them. After having a look online at some potentials issues I have checked the in/out ports (In - 995; out - I changed to 587 from 25 but no difference so went back to 25). Have continued to investigate to no avail. Outlook 2010 is still allowing me to send but not receive emails and is giving me this error message:
Task ‘ - Sending’ reported error (0x800CCC67) : ’ The server responded: 421 Cannot establish SSL with SMTP server 61.9.168.249:465, SSL_connect error 5:10054’
When I turn Avast off, my sent box empties so it is definitely something to do with Avast.
Any help would be appreciated!
I just saw a similar post and read through it … I went into Avast - Settings - Active Protection - Mail Shield - Customize and unticked the Scan Outbound Mail (SMTP) and I can send emails. What has changed in the last day or so as I’ve been using Avast for a few years now with never any issues?
